Lake Lavon is located northeast of the city of Dallas near the cities of Wylie, Murphy, and Lavon. This is a beautiful lake with over 10 Army Corps of Engineer parks which are great for camping, day-use, swimming, fishing, and all kinds of outdoors activities.
Lake Ray Hubbard is located east of the city of Dallas near the cities of Rowlett, Rockwall, and Heath. This is a fun lake with great parks and the very nice Rockwall Harbor area. There are plenty of outdoor activities available on Lake Ray Hubbard as well.
Joe Pool Lake is located south of Dallas and Fort Worth near the cities of Grand Prairie and Mansfield. This lake has some of the best campgrounds in north Texas. It also has great parks with day-use areas and nice beaches. This is a very fun and beautiful lake.
Lake Lewisville is 29,000 acre lake located near the city of Lewisville. This lake features great parks and campgrounds all around the lake. It is also home to the famous Party Cove. Lake Lewisville also has a number of great restaurants and golf courses surrounding the lake.
Lake Grapevine is a beautiful lake located just north of DFW airport near the cities of Grapevine and Flower Mound. This lake has numerous parks for day use and plenty of bank fishing areas. There are plenty of places to rent boats or kayaks for a day of fun on the lake.
Eagle Mountain Lake is a very nice lake located about 30 minutes north of downtown Fort Worth, Texas. This recreational lake is great for fishing, skiing, wakeboarding, relaxing, and recreational boating. There are numerous parks located around the lake. There are some great hiking trails around the lake as well mostly within Eagle Mountain Park.
Lake Texoma is one of the largest reservoirs in the United States. It is located on the Texas-Oklahoma border about 60 miles north of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Lake Texoma is surrounded by two huge state parks as well as dozens of other parks, marinas, and outdoor retreats.
Lake O’ The Pines is the best lake in East Texas. This wonderful lake is surrounded by huge pine trees and beautiful lake parks. This fishery contains large mouth bass, spotted bass, catfish, white bass, crappie, sunfish, and chain pickerel. Lake O’ The Pines is located miles from the hustle and bustle of any city.
Lake Whitney is a beautiful lake about 60 miles south of Fort Worth. This lake is surrounded by huge cliffs and rocky shores.
Possum Kingdom Lake is about 60 miles west of Fort Worth. This is one of the most beautiful lakes in Texas. If you love boating, camping, fishing, or hiking, Possum Kingdom Lake is the perfect destination.
Located just 45 minutes north of the Dallas – Fort Worth metroplex, Lake Ray Roberts is perfect for that weekend retreat. Lake Ray Roberts is known for the many hiking, biking, and equestrian trails around the lake. It has two huge parks for camping, swimming, or day-use: Isle Du Bois and Johnson Branch.
Lake Murray, Oklahoma
Lake Murray is defined by its clear blue spring fed waters. Just on the other side of the Oklahoma border, Lake Murray is a short trip from Dallas – Fort Worth.
