Press Box Grill is Now Open

As we reported a month ago, the old Los Cabos off of Northwest Highway has turned into a Press Box Grill sports bar.  This week, we paid Grapevine’s newest sports bar a visit.  Having been to the downtown Dallas location on numerous occasions we went to the new Press Box Grill in Grapevine with high expectations.

First, it was really cool to see what they changed inside the old Los Cabos.  They turned the former Mexican restaurant into a first class sports bar.  They did this by expanding the bar area (and the beer selection*), adding a bunch of tables, and lining the walls with big screen televisions including a 120 inch projection screen in the main bar.

Press Box Grill has a rather large menu for a sports bar.  In addition to the normal bar food, they serve up great salads, soups like the chicken and sausage gumbo, and more burgers and sandwiches than you would ever care to count.

We ordered up a variety of items including Fried Pickles, Broccoli and Cheese Soup with House Salad, and a Cheddar Cheese Burger.  Oh and of course some cold draft beers.

Press Box Grill lived up to expectations and then some.  The burger was excellent as expected.  The Fried Pickles were a surprising highlight.  Everything was very well prepared.

There is so much to choose from we are looking forward to our next visit.  We really want to try out the Shiner Bock Chili which we have heard is very good.

The official Grand Opening of Press Box Grill is Friday, December 30th.  They will show the UFC 141 event Lesnar versus Overeem and have happy hour prices all day.

Please check them out if you can.  Press Box Grill is located at 451 E. Northwest Highway in Grapevine.

  1. Thanks so much for the great follow-up article! I’m the marketing manager for Press Box (and daughter of owners Tom & Jan), and I really hope to see and meet some of the Grapevine TX Online staff and your readers at our Grand Opening event today. We’re thrilled that you liked what you saw (and ate) on your recent visit and we hope to continue meeting and exceeding your (and all of our customers’) expectations.

One thing I’d like to clarify is that we only have 8 draft beers right now in Grapevine (versus 36 in Dallas as shown on our website’s drink menu – we’ll update our website soon), so I don’t know whether that qualifies as a “huge draft beer selection”. But our aim is definitely to keep expanding the beer selection (both draft & bottle) in Grapevine, and with 8 drafts and 23 bottle selections currently, we feel we’re off to a good start!

I’ll share your article with our Facebook and Twitter followers – thanks again!

  2. Can’t wait to try it… Thanks for being a solid guinea pig.
