City Employees to Get 3% Pay Bump

After several years of little to no salary increases, the Grapevine City Council approved amending the city budget for fiscal year 2012 to include pay increases of 3% for city employees.  This is good news for city employees who were expecting only a 1% raise which was included in the original 2012 budget.

The cost of the additional 2% adjustment is $600,338.

Inflation in the United States for the last three years has been 2.7%, 1.5%, and 3.5% according to usinflationcalculator.com.  This adjustment was deemed necessary after city employees determined that 18 comparable cities averaged pay increases of 3% this year.
