Are you ready to ride? The ninth Dallas/Fort Worth Ride for Kids® is Sunday, Oct. 2. Please join us at Grapevine Mills Mall to show your support for children suffering from brain tumors. Brain tumors are the deadliest type of childhood cancer. Only through continued research will we find the cause of and a cure for this devastating disease, and the funds you raise help make that possible.
Riding for a reason
One of the local ride organizers is Gen White, who has a very personal reason for supporting Ride for Kids®.
“Being the mom of a child who lost his fight to a brain tumor, I cannot thank you enough for your support,” she says.
“So come celebrate life with us on October 2, and be part of a team that cares about the future of our children and helping them to have a brighter tomorrow.”
The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation® (PBTF), which conducts the national Ride for Kids® program, uses the event proceeds to support critically needed medical research. The funds raised also help families to better cope with the issues surrounding their child’s brain tumor. Our family support resources include free literature, a website, newsletters, Internet conferences, and college scholarships.
Since 1984, the PBTF and the Ride for Kids® program have raised more than $61 million. Dallas/Fort Worth riders have contributed over $697,000 of that total.
Thanks to your ongoing support, the PBTF has become the world’s largest non-governmental source of funding for childhood brain tumor research. Federal funding for this research continues to decrease, so your efforts really do make a difference.
Ride with us!
