Work Continues on new Low-Water Boat Ramp at Meadowmere Park

Lake GrapevineWork started about a month ago on the new low-water boat ramp at Meadowmere Park on Grapevine Lake. This is good news as lake levels continue to drop. Grapevine Lake is currently 3 feet below normal levels.

This new boat ramp will allow boaters to get on the lake even if lake levels are low. And if this drought continues much longer we may need this low-water ramp sooner rather than later.

A sign near the new ramp location says this $626,000 project will be funded 75% by the State of Texas and 25% by the City of Grapevine. Also in the works is a much needed upgrade to the restroom facilities at Meadowmere Park.

There is already a high water boat ramp in Katie’s Woods park. Once the new ramp at Meadowmere park is completed boaters will have access to Grapevine Lake at most lake levels.

One thing we are interested in seeing is how the concrete is poured to build the actual ramp when there is water in the lake.  It has to be an interesting process.  We will check back in on the progress later and hopefully catch how this is accomplished.
