Stage 1 water restrictions are set to be implemented next Monday.  According to NBC DFW, the Tarrant Regional Water District starts water restrictions once local lake levels reach 75% of normal levels.

The watering rules are as follows:

  • Businesses water on Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • Residents with even numbered addresses water on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
  • Residents with odd numbered addresses water on Thursdays and Sundays.

Residents are being asked not to water between 10 am and 6 pm.

Currently, Lake Grapevine is only 3 feet lower than normal. The problem is most lakes in the area are far lower. Eagle Mountain lake is over 4 feet low and Lake Arlington is down over 8 feet from normal lake levels.  Lake Whitney is over 14 feet below normal.
