From a note we received here at GTO:

In an urgent message this morning Rusty Thigpen, manager of the GRACE Pantry, began, “As of August 11, the GRACE Food Pantry is out of….” The list extended down the page and onto a second page.

Francia Arrigan, GRACE Programs Director, responded, “Due to the high cost of utility bills many families are facing (because the extreme heat conditions), we have higher numbers of families coming to GRACE for assistance. We are currently sending more people to the Pantry for food so our inventory is running out. Please can you write something in the newsletter to increase the donations of these items?”

Linda Collins, GRACE CFO, added “Can we put this on the top of the newsletter? I think it would make a difference. We have lost significant grant funds, and we are giving more food vouchers so families have money for high electric bills. Hopefully the cars could start dropping off at the Pantry tomorrow!”

The want list is as follows: Ramen Noodles, Ketchup, Mayo, Dry Pinto Beans, Dry White Rice,Crackers, Spaghetti Sauce, Bag Pasta, Spam, Cooking Oil, Syrup, Juice Drinks, Peaches, Mixed Fruit Cocktail, Shampoo, Conditioner, Lunch Meat, Hamburger, Hot Dogs, Apples, Oranges, Lettuce, Cabbage, Onions and Potatoes.

If you can help, please do. The GRACE Food Pantry is located at 837 East Walnut Street in Grapevine.
