Within the last twelve months the Vineyard’s Campground and Cabins have gone through a major makeover.  We were fortunate enough to stay at Cabin #8 in the campgrounds over the weekend.  Here is our very favorable review.

The campgrounds themselves are staffed with very friendly and informed people.  The entire campground is kept very clean and organized.  The grounds were bustling with activity from the many RV’s, boats, and jet skis all weekend.

Cabin #8 is a two-bedroom two-bath cabin right on the lake.  The cabin shares a huge outdoor deck area with Cabin #7.  There is a picnic table out back and a fire pit.  Then it is just a short walk down to the lake and boat dock.

The cabin itself sleeps six, but is really more comfortable for a maximum of four adults.  Inside the cabin are two full beds, a full size refrigerator, oven, microwave, and a flat-screen television.  There is also a great view of the lake.

One of the highlights of any weekend during the summer is being able to walk outside Friday night and catch the weekly fireworks show over Lake Grapevine.  The show starts around 9:30 pm and ends at approximately 9:45 pm.

Lake GrapevineThere really cannot be enough credit given to the air conditioner in Cabin #8.  Super Air Conditioner as it is known ferociouly battles outdoor temperatures above 100 degrees with ease.

All of  the new additions at the campgrounds are very well done.  The new Camp Store came in very handy several times.  Other new additions include:

  • Seven new cabins
  • Twenty-three new RV sites
  • Huge new restroom, washer & dryer facility
  • New boat docks
  • New swim beach area

For a local vacation, the Vineyard’s Campgrounds and Cabins should not be missed.  It is an extremely well run campground and is a lot of fun for camp visitors.
