Grapevine Voters Send Message Loud and Clear

Grapevine voters sent a clear message to the City Council and to City Government that they are content with current leadership.  In a hotly contested race for City Council Place 6, early results have 15 year incumbent Roy Stewart with roughly 51% of the unofficial vote.  Kathleen Thompson ran a close second with sligtly over 41% of the vote.  Deverick Jordan finished third with almost 7% of the 2,474 votes cast.

Voters passed the Crime Control and Prevention District vote with roughly 88% voting for the 1/2 cent sales tax renewal for 15 more years.

The GCISD bond package also passed convincingly with almost 70% of voters approving the package.

Congratulations to each candidate for running great campaigns and to all supporters of the CCPD renewal and GCISD bond package.

Reminder all results are unofficial at this point.

  1. Congratulations to Kathleen for a race well run…. shame on Roy for such dirty politics, again

  2. I find it disturbing that the city used public funds to campaign for tax increases. I think they are just creating a slush fund with the 1/2 cent sales tax that was supposed to expire this year. Guess this means there is no such thing as a temporary tax and no such thing as reducing public spending, it just increases no matter what.
