Excitement is starting to build for the new Sea Life Aquarium which will open in Grapevine Mills Mall on July 12th. When completed, the 40,000 square foot aquarium will be home to more than 5,000 sea creatures. The Grapevine location will be the 35th Sea Life Aquarium worldwide. The estimated cost of the facility is $15 million.

Some of the highly anticipated features of the Sea Life Aquarium will be:

  • 360 degree underwater ocean tunnel
  • Interactive rock pool where you can hold a crab or touch a live starfish
  • Giant green sea turtle
  • Common octopus
  • Seahorse
  • Clownfish
  • Cownose Stingray
  • Shark Walk
  • Shipwreck exhibit

In addition to these displays, there will be regional fish that reflect the habitats of Texas.

The new Sea Life Aquarium will be the fourth major attraction added to the city of Grapevine in 2011. The Legoland Discovery Center will be open on March 30th and the new water park at the Gaylord Texan will open sometime this spring. In addition, there will be a new Convention and Visitors Bureau building opening in Grapevine sometime this summer.

The Sea Life Aquarium will be located in Grapevine Mills Mall right next to the new Legoland Discovery Center replacing the GameWorks arcade on the west entrance to the mall.
