Preview Video of Gaylord Texan Water Park – The Rio Fiesto

The Gaylord Texan in Grapevine released a preview video of their new water park, Rio Fiesto, that will open this spring.  The 10-acre water park will include:

  • Relaxing 600 foot lazy river
  • 200 foot spilling water tower
  • Walk in beach
  • 6,000 square foot lagoon
  • 27 foot tall winding water slide
  • Two-person zip line
  • Three horseshoe hot pools
  • Seating for 1,200 people including chaise lounges, beach chairs, and private cabanas
  • Game area with shuffle board and horseshoes
  • Toddler pool
  • Full service bar and grill

You can find the full preview video here at the Gaylord Texan Facebook Page.
The only question we have is what is the official opening date?  The only date given so far is Spring of 2011 and as you know it is already March.  Maybe the construction has been delayed due to weather similar to the construction on the Convention and Visitors Bureau building in downtown Grapevine.

  1. I really bugs me that we will now have two water parks in Grapevine, and neither is open to Grapevine residents. We will still have to drive to NRH2O in North Richland Hills. We get Legoland and Sealife, but anytime a developer proposes a public water park, Grapevine City Counsel turns thumbs down.
