Grapevine Named One of America’s 20 Most Stable Housing Markets by Forbes

Forbes.com named Grapevine one of America’s top 20 most stable housing markets.  Living here, we agree with them.  The cool part of the article for us here at Grapevine Texas Online is that they used one of our photos in the article.  The same photo you can see at the top right on this page is also located at Forbes.com.

From information on that page:

Grapevine, Texas
Median home value: $219,000
Average change (2010): 1.7%
Percentage of homes sold (annualized): 4.0%
Dallas, Texas, metro area

Grapevine serves as the corporate home for videogame retailer GameStop. Home values are 67% higher than in the Dallas metro as a whole.

Here is the criteria used to find the stable home values:

In search of America’s most stable housing markets, we turned to online real estate marketplace Zillow.com, which has compiled information on 93 million homes nationwide. Zillow looked at the largest metro areas and focused on identifying a city in each where home values had appreciated for at least three straight quarters, the rate of home sales was healthy and foreclosure rates were lower than in the metro area.

This is great news for the City of Grapevine as it continues to be the best place to live in the Dallas – Fort Worth metroplex.
