According to the Dallas Morning News, Grapevine is one of three DFW cities to reflect double digit growth in sales tax revenue. The sales tax revenue growth is October of 2010 versus October 2009. The fact that Grapevine sales tax revenue is growing at 10+% is a great sign for the city.
The other two cities to reach double digit growth were Arlington and Allen.
If you recall back to October, we had a similar article pointing out that September sales tax revenue was up 7.7% from the same month prior year. Two months do not really make much of a trend, but the signs are definitely positive at this point.
The City of Grapevine’s FY11 budget planned for flat sales tax revenue versus last year. So these continued months of higher revenue are great for the city’s budget as well.
