Want to know how to enjoy yourself at Grapefest this year? Just follow these tips.
Admission
Free admission all day Thursday and Friday until 5 pm. This is sometimes the best times to be at Grapefest since there are smaller crowds.
All other times, admission is $8 for adults and $5 for seniors (62+) and children (6-12). Kids under 6 are free.
Traffic
The traffic situation in Grapevine is sometimes a mess with DFW Connector project going on. In fact, we are a little surprised that they are not putting a stop to lane closures during Grapefest. The good news is that lane closures are only during “off-peak” hours. And living around here, we can say that the traffic really has not changed much with the DFW Connector work.
Even with that said, you may want to check out this link to the official lane closure page. Or just forget it and come on down to Grapevine. Our guess is that the traffic problems will be overblown.
WHERE TO PARK
Parking is usually not too bad. One option is to just follow the signs once you are in Grapevine which take you to specific lots designated for Grapefest. Here is a cool map produced by the City of Grapevine showing parking access routes. (Note: This link will take you out of this site)
Or you can take our advice and park in the neighborhoods around Main Street. These spaces fill up early, but if you take the time to look you can often find a space that is short distance from Grapefest.
Our favorite place to park is just off of W. Dallas Road at the Train Station parking (see map below). These spots are VERY hard to get, but if you get there early there is not a better place to park. It is definitely worth circling through if you are in the area. If the train parking is full you can see if you can find a place along Church Street, but if not you can venture back into the neighborhood and find parking there.
WHAT TO EAT
We love the funnel cakes. Who doesn’t? Jake’s Cakes does the funnel cakes right. Napoli’s Italian Cafe will also be serving up pizza by the slice which is always good.
WHAT TO DRINK
Well, it is Grapefest so you have to drink some wine. Other than Texas wines and other wines from throughout the world, there is draft beer both domestic and premium beers. All the beverages are at reasonable prices for a festival.
You probably do not want to miss Le Freak on Saturday night at 10 PM if you can help it. Our favorite is to get a spot at the Bud Light stage and take in some of the best country music in the area. Here’s a link to all the show times on the Bud Light Stage.
WHAT TO BRING
Do not forget to bring sunscreen. Also, wearing shorts is a good idea because of the heat. Early forecasts show that high temperatures will be in the upper-80′s which is not too bad.
Also, if this is anything like prior festivals you can buy bottled water there cheaply at many of the shops along Main Street.
WHAT ELSE TO DO
Do not miss the Grapestomp. Although, it would be hard to miss. Maybe even give it a shot and you may end up with this year’s Purple Foot Award.
Other than that, just relax and have a good time. There is so much to do. It is impossible to take it all in.

This was so helpful. I probably would not have gone had it not been for yor article. Thanks!
