Top 8 Places To Grab A Burger In Grapevine Texas

Okay, we were only going to have a top 5 burger spots list, but could not narrow it down to just five.  Here are our top 8 places to grab a burger in Grapevine.

1. Tilted Kilt – The scenery  is a tad overrated here.  The burgers are definitely not.  Some of the best burgers in Grapevine can be found at the Tilted Kilt.  Try them.  You will thank us later.

Located at:
1041 West State Highway 114
Grapevine, TX 76051

2.  Fuddrucker’s– At this point, Fuddrucker’s is almost an American classic.  Yes, they have ventured into salads and nachos and other stuff, but their burgers are still the reason to stop in.

Located next to Bass Pro Shops at:
2001 N State Highway 121
Grapevine, TX 76051

3.  Flip’s Patio Grill – One of the coolest spots in Grapevine to hang out and grab a burger.  They have a great bar and patio area, but they also serve up some of the best burgers in town.

Located at:
415 W State Highway 114
Grapevine, TX 76051-4050

4.  Big Daddy’s– Ahh, sit back and relax on a dock at Scott’s Landing Marina and look out over lake Grapevine as you enjoy a very good burger.  It does not get much better.

Located on Lake Grapevine in Scott’s Landing Marina:
2500 Oak Grove Park Road
Grapevine, TX 76051

5.  Peace Burger – Maybe the most underrated burger spot in Grapevine.  If you just want a cool, laid back place to grab a high quality burger, this is it.

Located at:
1228 William D Tate Ave
Grapevine, TX 76051

6.  Chili’s – Well, they are the old standby and they still serve a very good burger.  Their Big Mouth Bites are about the best thing going if you do not care about the calories (and we definitely do not).

Located at:
800 W State Highway 114
Grapevine, TX 76051

7.  Tolbert’s– They are famous for chili, but their burgers are pretty good as well.  If you are in downtown Grapevine and hungry for a burger, you can not go wrong stoping in at Tolbert’s.

Located at:
423 South Main Street
Grapevine, TX 76051

8. Tap-In Bar and Grill – Another stop in downtown Grapevine, this bar and grill serves up some of the freshest, best tasting burgers around.

Located at:
120 South Main Street
Grapevine, TX 76051

Okay, now who did we leave out?

  1. Yep…thought this was gonna be a sham review, but the Tilted Kilt’s got the best burger I’ve had in a long time. The wife and I both couldn’t believe it. Who knew???!!?

  2. Sham review?
We don’t do those around here. 🙂

And yes, I agree. Tilted Kilt is number 1 on our list for a reason.

  3. Have to disagree with your #1 ranking of the Tilted Kilt as serving the best hamburger in Grapevine. I’ve enjoyed hamburgers from each of the restaurants on your list except TK. So based on your endorsement I had one today for lunch. What a disappointment.

If the meat is supposed to be the star then this thing burned out long ago. Only the scorched bits had any taste at all. Grey and utterly without flavor. Ugh.

On the side: A flimsy piece of romaine and tissue-thin slice of a mealy tomato. The Grapevine Farmers Market is selling some wonderful tomatoes right now. They ought to go and buy some.

The bun was not memorable, as it should be. A bun need only be sturdy enough to help deliver the sandwich to your mouth and not fall apart under the stress.

The french fries were also terrible. Room temp when served they seemed like leftovers. I ate a few and abandoned the rest.

Priced at nearly nine bucks I expect a lot more then what was served.

I suggest this realignment of your top three:

    #1 – Flip’s
    #2 – Peace Burger
    #3 – Tolbert’s

These establishments all know how to make a great hamburger. And Tap-In, Chili’s, Fuddy’s and Big Daddy’s are solid performers and all deserve to move up a notch.

TK may have other menu items that are tasty and delicious and deserve recognition but I’d suggest pulling them from your list of “top burgers” in Grapevine.

    Cheers.

  4. @Local Guy-

Well one thing about these rankings is that they are just a snapshot in time. I’m sure all restaurants shine on some days and have terrible days others.

I know the burger I had at Tilted Kilt was pretty spectacular, but that was a couple of months ago now. It is very hard to imagine that bun falling apart unless somehow they’ve changed bun types in the last month. And the fries I had were great as well.

I’m not denying your experience at all. In fact, we love different perspectives around here. I will definitely go back and try their burger again to make sure our rankings are still reasonable. If Tilted Kilt is faltering and needs to be adjusted, we will make the change.

And I like your suggestion on the Grapevine Farmers Market. They do have good fresh vegetables there. We need to get a story up on that soon.

    Thanks for your comment.

  5. Fudrucker’s? Really? The last (and only) time I went in there I didn’t see much difference between their meat patties and the one’s you get at McDonald’s.

Maybe I got the kiddie burger by mistake.

  6. Ummm, it’s spelled, “Fuddruckers.” Two Ds.

    • Oops. Thanks.
