Yesterday, it looked like only a little work had been done toward the demolition of the Main Street Bridge in Grapevine. Our guess is that they are saving the majority of the work for this weekend when there will be less traffic. Keep in mind the bridge will be closed nightly from 8 pm until 6 am through April 12th.
We expect that numerous lanes on 114 will be closed down as well to help facilitate the construction (or destruction) in that area.
Here’s the latest from the DFW Connector website:
- From 8:00 PM on April 7 to 6:00 AM on April 8, Main Street Bridge will be closed for lane restriping. Please use Texan Trail or William D. Tate Avenue as alternate routes.
- From 8:00 PM on April 8 to 6:00 AM on April 9, Main Street Bridge will be closed for placement of barrier wall and signage. Please use Texan Trail or William D. Tate Avenue as alternate routes.
- From 8:00 PM on April 9 to 9:00 AM on April 10, Main Street Bridge, westbound SH 114 near Main Street and southbound SH 121 at the SH 114 interchange will be closed. Please use the westbound SH 114 frontage road as an alternate route.
- From 8:00 PM on April 10 to 9:00 AM on April 11, Main Street Bridge, eastbound SH 114 near Main Street and northbound SH 121 at the SH 114 interchange will be closed. Please use the eastbound SH 114 frontage road as an alternate route.
