Big Racks BBQ in Grapevine

Big Racks BBQ in Grapevine

Here we go again.  Another restaurant in Grapevine decides to change its name.  Cutie Pies BBQ changes its name to the much more auspicious Big Racks BBQ.

This sounds like another Hooter’s or Twin Peaks or Bone Daddy’s knock off.  Do we really need another Hooter’s type restaurant in town?

We wonder what was wrong with the old name or the reason to change names in the first place.  Even though we have not made it by there for a review of the restaurant the parking lot always looked fairly crowded.  Maybe there was an ownership change or another reason.

If you have any information on the name change, please feel free to leave it in the comments section below.

We are going to try to get by there soon and do a review.  By the way, according to the sign out front, kids eat free at Big Racks BBQ on Saturdays and Sundays.  We found this to be mildly funny.  Please see the photo below.

Maybe they had to change the name from Cutie Pies because it was too mildly suggestive, and not quite to the full-on double-entendre-but-really-just-single-entendre level they were hoping for? *eyeroll*

P.S. You forgot to list The Tilted Kilt in that group of T&A establishments. They just opened in the old TGIFriday’s location. I hope this isn’t a trend for Grapevine. I saw a Bone Daddy’s waitress at the Exxon next door to them, and at first glance, she looked like a street-walker (until I saw it was a “uniform”). Sad.

    Hi Starr,

Very funny! Yes I forgot Tilted Kilt although I haven’t been there yet either.

I imagine the girl you saw at the Exxon was similar to the ones I saw walking into Big Racks when I was taking the photos.

      Brad,

Thanks for the information. Being a BBQ lover, I will definitely come in and give it a try.

I clicked on the website, but I don’t really see an update yet. I’ll check it out again before we stop in.

      Thanks again,

      Joe

Reply to Brad Shaw, do you know someone in Grapevine is shaving time off several employees timecards? You might want to see what’s going on at your Grapevine restaurant before it causes more problems for you with personnel turnover and tax issues.

Just saw the name change. Yawn no thanks. Not into fake baked, crass “big racks”. I need a place with some class. Does that exist in Texass?

New website is live, new menu is live as well.

Site looks good. $2 pints and $6 pitchers during Happy Hour sounds like my kind of place.

We are going to try to make it over this weekend for a review.

So sad that is what you do to get business.. I think the most perverted part is that “kids” eat free… What parent would want their child to see that? INAPPROPRIATE!!!!! They see the sign that they get to eat free and then there are half naked girls…

I wish someone would make this 18 or over.
and girls, I’m sure youre beautiful, but dont be surprised at perverts stalking you or making rude comments… dressed like a stripper, you are asking for it… Again, very sad for GRAPEVINE!!

There are strip clubs if you want to see half naked women, girls get so respect and morals. Do you have to put your breasts and butts out on display to make you feel like youre somebody??

Glad my gf wouldnt subject herself to that. She is gorgeous with a gorgeous body, one difference… doesnt feel the need to show the world for “tips”. Disgusting

Wow, I’m impressed this coming from a man, but I could NOT agree with you more. I am a woman, and I think it is absolutely disgusting at all of the restaurants that completely degrade women by having them half naked, with there T&A just hanging out. Just like Hooters this place has donned their restaurant a family place. No thanks. If I had a family, I sure wouldn’t subject them to this trash. Any woman that would want to work at this place, where all perverts are headed, is an idiot. What is the purpose of waiting tables pretty much naked? Any other restaurant has made it just fine with normal uniforms. This is disgusting.

Kyle I agree with don’t really care the fact that kids eat free that is a damn shame. Excuses you here all the time but this one is really low class……………….Believe me they should probably take that damn sign down I have 2 girls and I would never take them in there even if the food is free……………………………………………………………..Disappointed

To everybody that feels the need to complain:
Yall should have better things to do than to sit around and and write reviews on a place you havent even eaten at. Ive had the BBQ here and its quite good. If you dont want to see hot girls walking around “dressed like strippers” then take your overly sensitive liberal complaints somewhere else.
WAKE UP PEOPLE! You cant shelter your kids from everything. Chances are that the Moms on here complaining are not so attractive anymore and they need one more thing to complain about to justify some cause in their utterly boring and unhappy lives.
Oh and Kyle…..are you by chance gay? Or is it that your “girlfriend” dominates you and wont let you visit such and establishment.
To all complainers: Get a life! Oh and welcome to earth. Its 2010 and alots happened since Mayberry. Wikipedia the rest to catch up

The “T&A” restaurants will succeed as long as people patronize them. Bone Daddy’s and Hooters and Twin Peaks are often crowded because they are in good locations, have good food, and are a good option to see sports. Simply having beautiful women there is not enough for repeat customers. Cutie Pies is a prime example of a place that suffered from a low traffic area and not enough special events or menu options to keep people coming back. Big Racks may overcome some of those problems, but the competition is stiff. Tilted Kilt appears to have its act together and was packed during NBA All-Star Weekend. Big Racks’ was light.

I had lunch at this joint ONCE when I is was working in that part of town. Could’nt even get a new glass of really bad ice tea refilled, and had a tummy ache for the rest of the day after eating the “so called” fries. Just my two cents worth

This place has probably the best BBQ in Grapevine hands down!!! I find it humorous that anyone would judge a restaurant on the outfits instead of the food and service, OR that anyone would judge another person because of their work uniform. you see more skin at the mall, swimming pool, Dallas Mavs, Cowboys, and Stars games, do you all call the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and the Mavs dancers “strippers” too??? do they not use the sex appeal to draw in more fans????

  14. Joe Thomas March 6, 2010 at 8:35 am #

Thanks Gary. I bet the BBQ is good. I can’t wait to try it.

Are there tonight, place was packed, had all the NCAA Bball games on. Food was off the hook. Also, noticed numerous familes in there.
