The Life Time Fitness website describes their facilities as a fitness experience. We agree it is just that, an experience. It’s not just a gym or weight room, but covers the gamut of physical fitness activities.
There are two things that really separate the experience for us. Number one is the child care facility. Without it, we
would have a much more difficult time finding the time to work out. Life Time provides up to two hours of child care while you go work out or play tennis or swim or whatever you want to do at the gym. There is a small monthly fee for this service which I think is about $7 or $8, but it is probably best to check with Life Time on the exact amount.
Number two may seem very simple, but to me it is enormously helpful. It’s the towel service. All towels for working out, showering, or use at the pool are provided. This for some reason saves me a lot of time and the headache of always remembering to bring my own towel. It is one of those extras that really makes me love the place.
Okay, so what else do you get? Of course you get top of the line cardio and weight equipment. Almost any decent gym is going to have this. In addition there are:
- Two full court basketball courts
- Several racquetball courts
- Indoor Rock Climbing area
- Sauna
- Indoor/Outdoor swimming pools
- Tennis Courts
- Jacuzzi
- Salon
- Café
- Wide variety of group fitness classes
- Day use lockers with keys
I’m sure I’m leaving some things out that they offer, but those are the main ones. So now the next question is how much is it? I can tell you what we pay, but you probably want to call them for current offers for your specific needs. Our monthly rate for two adults and one child after taxes, child care, and everything is $115. Yes, I know that seem like a lot to me too. But for how much we use it, it doesn’t seem that bad. I like to think of it as a little investment in our health and our future.
