Grapefest 2009 – Friday Report and Photos
I think we’ve figured out what is so great about Grapefest. It’s just fun. If you take a look at the people marching away at the grape stomp (to the left and below), they are having a great time. And why not? It’s a fun, unique experience. You also have a different live music act and wine area every block for five blocks. If you do not like what you hear or taste, move along to the next block and taste some more wine and enjoy a different type of music.
Another interesting fact about Grapefest is that for the most part the food is good and the beer is reasonably priced for a festival of this nature. You can get Asian, Mexican, or Italian foods often from area restaurants that have set up camp here. You will also easily find plenty of great Texas barbeque. Beers are three dollars and fifty cents for a 12-ounce beer or four dollars for a 16-ounce beer for those of us that like to drink a little bit more. What would you pay for a similar beer at a Texas Rangers game? Nine dollars? Nine-dollar beers are not good for anyone.
Weather was good on Friday although it was a little humid. Other than that it was perfect. The crowds also picked up dramatically from Thursday although it still did not feel crowded. If you enjoy good music, wine, and food in a family friendly environment, we cannot recommend visiting Grapefest enough.
Please take a look at some photos below of Friday’s Grapefest.
